Places of interest in the local area: Towns and villages: Bath - Only 8 miles away from this historic city and we are on a main bus route should you not wish to take your own car. Bradford-on-Avon - 5 miles away from this very pretty town, with canal, locks, river, Tithe barn, and Saxon church. It also has lots of antique shops, many eating places and a swimming pool. Lacock - National Trust village, used frequently for filming period dramas, most recently scenes from Harry Potter and Cranford. Castle Combe - Very scenic village on the edge of the Cotswolds which also contains a racing circuit, kart track and skid pan. Salisbury, Old Sarum and Stonehenge - 30 miles away Avebury - Village surrounded by standing stones that are older than Stonehenge, said by many to be more atmospheric than Stonehenge.
